I want to file a combined wage (multistate) claim, what do I need to do first? |
| A. |
If you are coming to Massachusetts to file a combined wage (multistate) claim (unemployment) you first must contact the Workforce Security Office (UI) in your home state. They will guide you through the process and determine if you quallify. Below is a list of Workforce Security Offices (UI) in all fifty states and the District of Columbia, simply click on the link, it will redirect you to the USDOL website and your state's website. Learn more by attending a Career Center Seminar where you will be given the opportunity to register for intensive services. You will be contacted by a staff member shortly after to discuss training and funding options.
The Resource Room includes brochures about educational and training programs as well as financial aid information.

How do I file for unemployment? |
| A. |
To file a claim for unemployment compensation from within Massachusetts please call the Massachusetts Division of Unemployment Assistance call center at (877) 626-6800. Out of state, call (617) 626-6800, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Click here to file online, or visit our forms and publications page. Other questions concerning how to file a claim,click here.
There is a representative from the Massachusetts Division of Unemployment Assistance available at BerkshireWorks, on a first-come, first-serve basis, during regular business hours to answer any questions or to file a claim.

Career Center Seminars are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:00 pm. These seminars provide an overview of services and and include a tour of the center.
Please pre-register for a Career Center Seminar, by calling (413) 499-2220 ext 110. Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

How do I get a copy of my 1099-G Statement |
| A. |
The 2010 1099G form, required for filing your 2010 taxes, is now available online when you log in to www.mass.gov/dua/webcert. The paper version of the 1099G form will be mailed by January 31, 2011. If you are not able to view the 1099G online or have not received it via mail by February 5th, please call 617-626-5647 to request a copy.
Note: If you need the 2010 1099G form to apply for financial aid (FAFSA), you can print the form by accessing www.mass.gov/dua/webcert |

How do I apply for an opening listed on the Job Listings page? |

You may visit our online services website to view positions posted on our daily job list. Simply click the following link www.mass.gov/jobquest insert the "job order number" in the box marked "MJQ job number" and click search. This will bring up the description of the job and how to apply. Some positions listed on our website are confidential openings and require the career center to make a referral. Please contact one of our employment specialists at (413) 499-2220 for assistance. You may also visit our contact us page and e-mail your request. |
